The featured readers for this month\'s meeting are:  Glenda Barrett Glenda Barrett\, a native of Hiawassee\, Georgia is an artist\, poet and writer. Her paintings are on display at Fine Art America. Glenda&rsquo;s writing has appeared in Woman&rsquo;s World\, Chicken Soup for the Soul\, Farm &amp; Ranch Living\, Rural Heritage\, Psychology for Living\, Nostalgia\, Journal of Kentucky Studies and many others. Her poetry chapbook titled\, When the Sap Rises\, is for sale on Amazon.com  Nancy Simpson Nancy Simpson is one of the practicing poets who lives among us. She is the author of three collections of poetry: Across Water\, Night Student\, and a new book\, Living Above the Frost line - Selected and New Poems (Carolina Wren Press\, 2010). Nancy earned an M.F.A. in Writing from Warren Wilson College and is Resident Writer at John C. Campbell Folk School. She is a longtime member of NCWN and cofounder of NCWN West. She co-edited Lights in the Mountains and Echoes Across the Blue Ridge. Nancy Simpson&rsquo;s poems have been published in The Georgia Review\, Prairie Schooner\, and in anthologies such as 100 Years of N.C. Michelle Keller Michelle Keller is drawn to words; she likes to play with them\, fitting the sounds of them together. She enjoys the editing portion of writing best. It allows her to search for the perfect word or phrase. She writes poetry most of the time\, but also likes to write personal essays and the occasional short story. She believes writing is a gift\, like the color of one&rsquo;s hair or the color of one&rsquo;s eyes. His pieces have appeared in Carolina Country and Lights in the Mountains. He brings interest to everyday things in his musings. Richard is the facilitator of the Netwest Prose Critique Group.  Jennifer McGaha Jennifer McGaha writes literary essays and nonfiction with an emphasis on environmental issues. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in numerous literary journals and magazines including Wilderness House Literary Review\, Pisgah Review\, North Carolina Literary Review\, Red Wheelbarrow\, MoonShine Review\, Smoky Mountain Living Magazine\, Fried Chicken and Coffee and Muscadine Lines\,  and anthology\, Echoes Across the Blue Ridge: Stories\, Essays and Poems By Writers Living in and Inspired by the Southern Appalachian Mountains. DESCRIPTION:Bonnie Carol sings and plays hammered and fretted dulcimers as  well as African marimba\, bodhr&aacute;n\, folk drums and hand percussion. A  performance is likely to encompass traditional music from North and  South America\, the British Isles\, Caribbean rhythms\, and even Tex-Mex  tunes\, all fitting together in that exuberant whole we call World Music.  Bill Taylor\'s music styles range from bluegrass and old-time to jazz\,  and are enriched by his expressive vocals. He is one of the most  respected builders of quality mountain dulcimers\, and his instruments  can be found in the hands of many satisfied dulcimer players.  Lois Hornbostel is one of the country&rsquo;s best known mountain dulcimer  performers and teachers. Her repertoire includes old-time fiddle tunes  learned from North Carolina string bands\, traditional Irish music  gleaned from Irish jam sessions in New York City\, as well as waltzes and  two-steps learned from Cajun musicians in Louisiana.   Anne Lough is a singer\, performer\, instructor and recording artist whose  programs have delighted and inspired North Carolinians of all ages  through the Mountain Arts Program and the North Carolina Arts Council  Touring Artist Program. DESCRIPTION:David Buchanan and Nelson Thomas\, aka Buck &amp; Nelson\, have  been performing music together since the mid 1970&rsquo;s.  They began  learning the basics of music and playing string instruments in the  basement of Nelson\'s parent\'s house. DESCRIPTION:The Dismembered Tennesseans have appeared on stage with many of the top country music stars and performed in concert with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra and the Chattanooga Boys Choir\, and more recently the Chattanooga Ballet. They have appeared on a segment of ABC-TV\'s Peter Jennings Nightly News and were featured on the NBC Sunday Today Show. Their audiences have been composed of such celebrities as Chuck Yeager\, Sam Nunn\, Gerald Ford\, Jack Kemp\, and three Tennessee governors. SUMMARY:Free Concert at the Folk School:  Buck and Nelson  
DESCRIPTION:David Buchanan and Nelson Thomas\, aka Buck &amp; Nelson\, have been performing music together since the mid 1970&rsquo;s. They began learning the basics of music and playing string instruments in the basement of Nelson\'s parent\'s house. For the past 20 years they have also performed solo\, with a number of other musicians\, and at many venues including performing in &ldquo;The Reach of Song&rdquo; (Georgia&rsquo;s Official Historical Drama).   Their main instrument is the acoustic guitar\, which they both flatpick and play fingerstyle.
